Ulyana Sergeenko couture designs and Faidee’s finest rubies mark the opening of the new Galeries Lafayette in Doha
The first ever Russian “couturier” Ulyana Sergeenko took part in the opening night of the Galeries Lafayette in Doha, in collaboration with the renowned high jewellery house Faidee.
Ulyana Sergeenko brings to Qatar her Spring/Summer 19 Couture collection as well as her latest designs inspired by Qatari heritage to be featured exclusively at the new Galeries Lafayette Doha, the latest destination for fashion lovers in Qatar. Each Ulyana Sergeenko model wore on the runway unique high jewellery pieces by Faidee, in a shared tribute by both houses to craftsmanship, beautiful materials and Couture’s unique philosophy
The Couture collection and its partner jewellery designs were exhibited in the exclusive setting of La Suite – Galeries Lafayette Doha’s spacious penthouse for a personalised shopping service, catering to the world’s most discerning clientele. Ulyana Sergeenko and Faidee recreated in Doha the decor and feel of private salons to offer each client a personalised and dedicated welcome, in the great tradition of Couture and Place Vendôme. Visitors were treated to a privileged presentation of the much acclaimed SS19 collection as well as Ulyana’s Qatar inspired pieces, along with a private exhibition of Faidee’s stunning jewellery set with the world’s rarest Burmese rubies, including the ‘Mogok Sunrise’ ring featuring a 24-carat pigeon’s blood ruby and named after the legendary valley of Mogok that is home to the world’s best Burmese rubies The ready-to-wear collection of the designer is available all year round at the Galeries Lafayette Doha, on the first floor.

Ulyana Sergeenko is Russian designer and collector. Ulyana Sergeenko launched her eponymous fashion house in Moscow in 2011. One year later, after the brand’s first ever Couture show in Paris, Ulyana Sergeenko became the first Russian couturier who has an honor to be the official invited member of the Federation of Haute Couture. As a storyteller at heart, Ulyana Sergeenko builds her collections around narratives that weave the personal with the fantastic, history with folklore and invention. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and handcrafted design elements, Ulyana Sergeenko believes that traditional handwork gives clothes a ‘unique soul’.
