NET-A-PORTER announces KHIRY FINE will be the latest brand to join The Vanguard, the globally renowned program for emerging designer talent.

KHIRY FINE will be the brand’s first collection within the fine jewelry space, following a mentorship with fellow fine jewellery brand Mateo and the sponsorship from three suppliers, all of whom provided materials to realise the KHIRY FINE collection: Diamonds from Hearts On Fire, Emeralds from Muzo Emerald Colombia and Gold, from a single mine origin source, from The Betts Group.

Founded in 2016 by Jameel Mohammed, KHIRY channels the beauty, art, heritage and culture of the African diaspora into modern, luxurious jewellery. NET-A-PORTER will exclusively showcase the debut of KHIRY’s fine jewellery offering, KHIRY FINE, comprised of a range of essential styles and specific sculptural silhouettes rendered in 18-Karat Gold and a variety of precious stones. The collection is inspired the designer’s pan-diasporic vision of Black culture and his personal evolution as a Black artist and creator.

KHIRY FINE will join the celebrated program and will receive a comprehensive mentorship within each area of the business, from NET-A-PORTER’s unequalled global team of specialists. The launch of KHIRY FINE on February 1st will be exclusive to NET-A-PORTER.

“It is extremely important to us at NET-A-PORTER, that we help emerging designers to set up their businesses for long term success. Jameel at KHIRY has been on our radar for a while now and we are so exciting to be launching his first fine jewellery collection, KHIRY FINE which offers a truly unique view that we are sure our customers will really resonate with. The whole collection is a testament to his talent – bringing together mentorship and sponsors to enable his vision to become a reality” – Senior Market Editor, Libby Page

“Doing this project is indicative that the industry and the world is changing. The other cause for hope, is not merely in the reception we receive as designers but the strength we build together. Mateo has helped to move my business forward  by years. This is a moment of empowerment, it’s a collaboration of black and non-black creators, that can and will be the site of change. This is where it starts.” Jameel Mohammed, KHIRY FINE

“Jameel was my first go-to. He’s phenomenal. So I suggested him to NET-A-PORTER for this initiative.” – Matthew Harris, Mateo

NET-A-PORTER is proud to be supporting the Chicago Multicultural Dance Center and will be donating 15% of the profits from the sale of selected KHIRY FINE jewellery, designed by former CMDC student Jameel Mohammed.
