Whether in geometric perfection of design or the purity of its Art Deco lines, Boucheron has always displayed a passion for abstraction. For nearly 160 years, the French luxury label’s inclination towards noble structures and majestic forms has influenced the creation of its brilliant jewellery. Here’s proof.

Located in the grandiose Place Vendôme, Boucheron has always been legendary for its enigmatic approach to its high jewellery designs – designs that are playful, elegant, colourful and, above all, sensual. One only need look at its daring and unusual animal motifs to see why. It’s no surprise the house of Boucheron boasts a clientele that includes Queen Rania of Jordan, Oscar Wilde, Rita Hayworth, Scott Thomas, and even the British Royal Family.

One newborn in the history of the maison is the Jack collection. Playful and independent, it gives free rein to the imagination and creativity of the woman who wears it. This gold wire reinvents the way jewellery is worn: it’s not just a bracelet or necklace. The pieces do not fit into one category, instead pushing you to think outside the box. Inspired by jack cables, its graphic jeweller’s clasp lets you unfold it as the mood takes you.

“Playful and independent, it gives free rein to the imagination and creativity of the woman who wears it.”

Another utterly wearable collection is Plume de Paon. It was a peacock feather that inspired Frédéric Boucheron – in collaboration with the head of his atelier Paul Legrand – to imagine, draw, and create the Point d’Interrogation necklace. The year was 1883, and this major innovation with its fresh new approach to femininity soon became an icon of Boucheron. Indeed, far from sitting tightly around your neck, this necklace makes a statement without constraining you.
