A Touch of Colour to Count the Hours

For the first time in more than 200 years, BOVET is introducing semi-precious stone dials, featuring Malachite and Tiger’s Eye, in its Récital 12 collection.

Stones have long been revered as symbols of permanence, strength and the passage of time. In the world of horology, their use in watch dials is more than a technical detail – it is a philosophical statement, a celebration of nature’s artistry and the connection between Earth and time.

The touch of colour showcases a new aesthetic for the Récital 12 collection, adding a twist to this versatile, comfortable, daily-wear wristwatch. The addition of stone to dials is a way of creating unique pieces, as no two items are ever alike. Each reveals unique patterns, hues and textures shaped by geological forces, making each watch one of a kind. Both stone dial versions, Malachite and Tiger’s Eye, are limited to 60 pieces worldwide.

SET IN STONE
Malachite dials are celebrated for their mesmerising green hues and intricate, naturally occurring patterns, which range from wavy bands to concentric circles, making each dial a work of art. The green also echoes the forest-covered Jura Mountains around the BOVET castle, a strong source of inspiration.

Tiger’s Eye dials are renowned for their striking golden-brown tones and the signature ‘cat’s eye’ effect, known as chatoyancy – a hallmark of this quartz family mineral – that gives each dial a dynamic, almost hypnotic quality impossible to replicate artificially. The resulting dial exudes natural luxury and warmth, making it a favourite among collectors seeking to add style and a touch of the Earth’s energy to their timepieces.

ELEGANT TIMEKEEPING
Ultralight and sized at 40mm, the Récital 12 has been engineered to provide exceptional comfort and wearability. Its folding clasp incorporates an expansion mechanism, allowing for up to 3mm of adjustability to accommodate minor fluctuations in wrist size throughout the day. When the folding clasp comes together, the tips of the V of BOVET form an infinity symbol.

On the dial, the natural stones stand out, and the manufacture movement has been inverted and opened up to expose BOVET’s in-house balance wheel and regulating organ, as well as a portion of the gear train. On top of the seconds wheel is a running seconds indicator with three fire-blued hands. The movement provides a seven-day power reserve (168 hours) from a single barrel.

BOVET’s integrated manufacture allows more than 95% of the components to be produced in-house, including the hairspring and regulating organ. With the Récital 12 Malachite and Tiger’s Eye, BOVET celebrates its Good Life motto by highlighting technical excellence and stylish design.
