Unfolding across 23 sets, Chapter Two of Terres d’Instinct continues to explore the vast landscapes of Namibia, drawing inspiration from nature’s extremes. The jewels echo the majesty of Southern Africa, exploring its contrasts.
This collection marks a turn toward coloured gemstones, expanding Messika’s aesthetic vocabulary. Drawn from the splendour of nature in Namibia, the hues in the sets are an ode to the sky, desert, fauna and flora. Blue sapphires mirror the heavens, tsavorites rise like sudden vegetation, red and pink spinels flare like the last embers of the sun, onyx and diamonds trace the zebra’s stripes, while Sannan Skarn represents the region’s rich foliage.
Colour also finds new expression through technique. Lacquer appears in two exclusive shades, brown and black, deepening contrasts with rare intensity. Titanium, anodised in violet, blue and green for So Move Max, brings new luminescence to the collection. In a bold crescendo, So Move Rainbow assembles 24 shades of sapphires and rubies with diamonds underscoring the motifs and links – gemstone pairings elevated into a spectrum of pure radiance.
Astra captures Namibia’s night sky in a constellation of blue sapphires and diamonds, centred around a 3.02-carat pear-cut diamond glowing with lunar intensity.
Terra rises like the desert below, sculpted in brushed yellow gold around a 3.12-carat emerald-cut diamond shining like an oasis of life.
Zebra Mnyama captures the animal in plain sight, the wanderer of the savannah, marked by its stripes. Onyx and baguette-cut diamonds trace this rhythm with graphic precision, anchored by two shield-cut diamonds at the core. Zebra Luhlaza unveils the zebra in concealment, master of camouflage, dissolving into the savannah’s foliage. Vivid Sannan Skarn interlocks with diamonds in sharp geometry, its layered greens echoing life veiled in the wild. Mille Feux Tsavorite Garnets radiate vitality, green fire flickering through cascades of diamonds. Like sparks of life scattered across the desert, they embody nature’s constant renewal. Mille Feux Red & Pink Spinels burn with the last light of the sun, red and pink spinels flaring like embers, fading into the night. Diamonds answer in crystalline sparks, holding onto a fire that would otherwise vanish.
Hypnotic Pink Sapphires blossom, unfolding like a desert rose f lower, fragile in appearance yet born of arid strength. A gradient of stones, set in Messika’s signature écrin de lumière, magnifies each shade, while diamonds strike in incandescent brilliance. Hypnotic Spessartite Garnets blaze entwined with diamonds in a duel of fire and ice. Around each pear-shaped centre garnet, seven hues unfurl in seamless gradient, fanning the flame into a spectrum of heat until the stones appear lit from within, suspended on the skin.
