Luxury SUV Receives Safety Award

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has given the all-new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus a TOP SAFETY PICK+ award after the vehicle passed all IIHS crashworthiness tests.

This is the highest accolade given by the IIHS, an American independent, nonprofit scientific and educational organisation set up in 1959.

It focuses on reducing deaths, injuries and property damage from motor vehicle crashes through research and evaluation and through education of consumers, policymakers and safety professionals.

To qualify for the 2024 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, vehicles needed good ratings in the small overlap front and updated side tests and an acceptable or good rating in the updated moderate overlap front test, which now emphasises back seat safety.

In addition, an acceptable or good rating in the pedestrian front crash prevention evaluation was required, and all trims needed to be fitted  with acceptable or good-rated headlights.

Redesigned for 2024, the all-new Nautilus, a midsize luxury SUV, satisfied all of the IIHS testing requirements. All three trims feature good-rated headlights and a standard front crash prevention system that earned a good rating in the pedestrian test.

Nautilus also earned stellar scores across the board in the updated moderate overlap test, which distinguishes TOP SAFETY PICK+ winners from recipients of the lower-tier TOP SAFETY PICK award.

The all-new Nautilus offers clients the choice of two powertrains – a 2.0-litre turbo-charged engine as well as a hybrid powertrain. On the road, Nautilus features the most standard Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in its class.
