The CHANEL Watchmaking Creation Studio decorates the Blush Watch Capsule Collection with a palette of colours from the brand’s beauty world.
CHANEL launched a series of watches during Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025 and, among them, the Blush Watch Capsule Collection caught our attention. Inspired by an important world created by Gabrielle Chanel: CHANEL Beauty.
Vibrant in colour and spirit, this set of precious watches captures the essence of this universe, transcribing its palette and textures into the artistry of contemporary watchmaking.
The iconic designer changed the codes of fragrance and cosmetics by launching the Nº5 perfume and a refined make-up line in the 1920s. Powders and lipsticks, placed into black lacquered cases, put the focus on the cosmetics themselves to better reveal their shades. A contrasting duality that Arnaud Chastaingt, Director of the CHANEL Watchmaking Creation Studio, has chosen to apply to the new timepieces.
“I am drawn to the authoritative elegance of these objects – their sophisticated architecture, their striking, deliberate geometry, the depth of black lacquer that intensifies the richness of a crimson hue or the softness of a powdered pink,” he says.
“These palettes, pencils, brushes, pigments and textures – so intrinsic to the art of fine watchmaking – inspired me to establish connections with artistic movements such as Dripping Art and Pop Art. Why not ‘put make-up’ on time to make it more beautiful? This vision of beauty became the heartbeat of the entire collection.”
With the energy of the colour palette designed by CHANEL’s Makeup Creative Studio, the Blush Watch Capsule Collection consists of watches that combine the power of shades and the maison’s exceptional métiers d’art craftsmanship. Dusted pink and tones of red are embossed like eye shadows and randomly splashed on the timepieces. Portrayed in materials such as Grand Feu enamel, decal and pad printing on the dial, airy setting, miniature painting and gold sculpting, the richness and diversity of crafting give this collection a unique allure – an elevation of the symbols of CHANEL Beauty to the status of true jewels.
