7 TIPS FOR HEALTHIER NAILS AT HOME!

We are living in a very challenging time! The responsibility of grooming yourself has fallen completely in your own hands. When it comes to taking care of your nails, getting a manicure done is certainly not the only option.
There are ways through which you could make your nails healthy, let them grow faster and stronger. Let us make use of the Quarantine phase to pamper and enhance ourselves as well as our nails!

TIP 1:
Take care of your cuticle area.
Cuticles are very delicate and get ruptured easily. Taking good care of your cuticles will ensure you don’t get hangnails. When your cuticle area is dry, make sure you moisturise them. Avoid cutting your cuticles, try trimming and pushing them back.

TIP 2:
Use a moisturiser.
Dry and flakiness is as bad for your nails as they are for your skin. Moisturise your hands and feet regularly to keep them fresh and strong. Choose from a range of hand creams or cuticle oils/ creams to keep your nails healthy and shiny.

TIP 3:
Exfoliate hands and feet once a week.
Exfoliating and scrubbing your hands and feet will make sure the dead skin cells are removed. Exfoliating helps if you are someone with dry skin. Try out a mixture of sugar, lemon and olive oil. Leave it on for 10-15 mins, rinse, dry and enjoy the sight of fresh-looking hands!

TIP 4:
Buff, Shine and Trim your nails regularly.
Take out some time every few weeks to trim your nails and shape them in a manner you like. It’s best to trim your nails in a straight line & give shape to your nails with a filer.

TIP 5:
Maintain Hygiene.
Clean your nails regularly and make sure all your nail tools are periodically washed and sanitised. Make sure that your nails don’t grow too long as that makes it easier for the dirt to accumulate below the nails. Apply natural disinfectants on your nails like tea tree oil to keep the bacteria away and protect your nails from germs.

TIP 6:
Wanting to grow your nails? Dip them in lemon juice!
The Vitamin C in lemons facilitate the healthy growth of nails, they also help in removing yellow nail stains since it acts as a bleaching agent. Mix and heat the solution of 1 tbsp. lemon juice with a tbsp of olive oil, soak your nails in the mixture for 10 mins. Do this everyday for optimum results.

TIP 7:
Avoid biting your nails.
Biting your nails causes a lot of damage. In addition to making your nails look bad, the contact with your saliva makes them weak and brittle. It also harms your cuticles. This habit leads to multiple bacterial infections that slow down the growth of the skin and nails in that area.

Let us all make an effort to transform ourselves during this phase! Nothing would make us more happy than to see you in your most beautiful and healthy state.
