Vanguart updates the Orb Tourbillon watch for everyday wear without losing its avant-garde design.
At Geneva Watch Week 2026 (which happens in parallel to Watches and Wonders in the city), Vanguart watchmaking introduced two new versions of its Orb flying tourbillon, marking the first time the model has incorporated coloured ceramic. The new releases: the Orb Pink Ceramic Titanium and Orb Blue Ceramic Rose Gold aim to make the brand’s highly technical flagship design more wearable for daily use without losing the experimental character that defined the original.
First launched in 2024, the Orb drew attention for its unusual approach to winding mechanics. It became the first flying tourbillon watch to feature a selector that allows the wearer to switch between manual and automatic winding modes. That function helped establish the Orb as one of the more unconventional recent entries in high-end independent watchmaking, combining technical complexity with an emphasis on interaction and user control.
The latest editions retain the Orb’s signature architecture while introducing softer colour palettes through ceramic detailing. Pink ceramic is paired with titanium, while blue ceramic is matched with rose gold. The result is a more relaxed visual identity that contrasts with the watch’s highly engineered movement and open-worked construction.
Vanguart’s goal with the new models appears clear: broaden the appeal of the Orb beyond collectors of extreme haute horlogerie and position it as a watch that can realistically be worn every day. Despite its mechanical complexity, the Orb has always been designed with ergonomics in mind. The 41mm case measures just 10.5mm thick, unusually slim for a watch built around a flying tourbillon and layered movement display.
The curved case back was also designed to follow the shape of the wrist, helping improve comfort and wearability. Those practical considerations have remained central to the new ceramic editions, which continue to balance visual drama with a relatively lightweight and compact profile.
Since its launch, the Orb has helped raise Vanguart’s profile within the independent watch sector and has reportedly been worn by several figures from sport and entertainment. The new ceramic models build on that momentum while shifting the focus slightly toward versatility and contemporary styling.
While the mechanics remain the centrepiece, the addition of coloured ceramic introduces a more approachable dimension to the collection. Rather than reworking the Orb entirely, Vanguart has refined the concept, presenting a version of the watch that retains its technical identity while fitting more comfortably into everyday use.
