AN ICON OF LUXURY, INNOVATION AND INSPIRATION

French luxury department store Printemps is set to open its first international outlet at Doha Oasis. Printemps Doha, the largest department store in the Middle East, will welcome guests in the third quarter of the year.

For over a century, Printemps has been an important player in global retail transformation. Founded in 1865 in Paris, the French marque will now bring its unique know-how in fashion, luxury and exclusive customer experiences to Qatar. Printemps Doha is gearing up to open its doors beneath the elliptical landscaped garden of Doha Oasis. Strategically positioned in the historical old downtown and reflecting its grandiose flagship, it will be the second-largest Printemps store in the world and the biggest in the Middle East with a retail space of more than 40,000sq/m.

Boasting over 500 brands in store with more than 160 exclusivities (brands that will only be available in Qatar at Printemps), the space is designed to be a new experience in its own right. Bringing the latest fashion trends, personalised services and unique experiences together under one roof creates a feeling of pure inspiration.

Printemps Doha represents a strong symbol that accurately expresses the flagship’s positioning: to thrive and always be the first – everything begins at Printemps. Further, Qatar is the home country of the department store’s owner, lending the decision to be present in Doha a sentimental value.

PRINTEMPS, A HISTORY OF HERITAGE, CULTURE AND INNOVATION

Renowned for its parent company’s tradition in innovation, Printemps Doha is keen to continue honouring the brand’s rich past with a new standard of quality, exceptional customer service and memorable shopping and lifestyle experiences, bringing the French flair to Qatar with the Printemps’ trendsetter spirit.

The brand has a 150-year-old heritage of remarkable fashion and cultural and artistic history that encompasses the vision and values of founder Jules Jaluzot. These principles involve manifesting the brand’s timelessness, determination to break boundaries and aspiration to bring everything that is new, fresh and beautiful to its cherished guests. Boasting state-of-the-art architecture, Printemps has always been ahead of the curve. Designed by star architect Yabu Pushelberg, the department store at Doha Oasis is a testimony to adventurous courage and craftsmanship, all embraced in a plan that is both resolutely contemporary yet inspired by the Arabian desert, exhibiting the pride of legacy.

EMBODYING THE LOCAL SPIRIT

Printemps Doha will imagine and set up bespoke events, fashion shows and social media activations, all inspired by Qatari culture, as well as building partnerships with local fashion and educational institutions. One-third of the store’s assortment will be exclusive, with both international brands and local designers’ creations. The bold decision to maintain this proportion is a first for department stores and is directly linked to Printemps’ positioning, which is to select the best brands and facilitate and promote emerging talents in the market. “Our objective is to build something bespoke and unique for Doha,” says Karen Vernet, Chief Merchandising Officer at Printemps Group. “We will take what we think is the best in Paris. We will also always discuss with the local team and ask what will interest the local clients because this is the most important thing.”

A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

Printemps Doha represents a next generation department store that combines an immersive in-store experience with new technologies to create an ultra-personalised customer relationship. On offer is an extensive range of avant-garde fashion, accessories, lifestyle, beauty and technology, as well as exceptional one-to-one services, including a beauty and caring wellness studio and a VIP private lounge. A VIP concierge service, customisation studio, personal shoppers and stylists are available online and in-store. Pre-orders of the latest collections by international designers will be available upon request.

“I think it is a place people will remember,” says Jennifer Fall, Director, Buying and Visual Merchandising at Printemps Doha. “What we aim to achieve is that you have something to talk about to your friends afterwards, whether you found a unique piece or whether you’ve been impressed by the service that you experienced or just had a nice moment at one of our exclusive coffee shops or restaurants so much that you want to come back.”
