Remembering Ribot

Stunning, elegant, with a regal stride and as fast as the wind. His name was Ribot and he was an exceptional, champion racehorse and one of the greatest of all time between the 1950s and ’70s.

Marina Rinaldi has dedicated a small project in the FW 21_22 collection to his imposing posture and incredible achievements.

There has always been a strong bond between fashion and the impeccable appeal of the horse riding world, a liaison where aesthetics and practicality blend, bringing a timeless style of horse racing or dressage tournaments to the city.

While we await the chance to enjoy the horse-riding championships at the coming Olympics in Tokyo, Marina Rinaldi’s wardrobe plays around with horse-riding inspired prints, with details taken from the world of jockeys and with a range of colours, like blue, pinstripe, leather and red that are ideal for a ride out with Her Majesty.

The unfaltering re-interpretation in jersey of jodhpurs combine easily with the knitted cape with jacquard logo or the scuba fabric sweatshirt and with a macro-design that resembles stirrups, a centre-stage pattern even on the longuette dress and knee-length skirt.

The long quilted gilet down to mid-thigh is perfect on cooler days, to combine with the round-neck jumper or the polo with logo. While the new jersey jacket cut to show off the figure better can warm up the comfortable and cosy suede-effect jumpsuit.
