LEGENDARY REDS CELEBRATES ICONIC GUERLAIN LIP SHADES

“The LEGENDARY REDS collection showcases Guerlain’s expertise in lip make-up, formed over almost two centuries. It celebrates the soul of Guerlain, the House’s incredible heritage…”

GUERLAIN MAKE-UP CREATIVE DIRECTOR

1828
In 1828, upon the opening of his first boutique, Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain created his first liquid product for adding colour to the lips and cheekbones, titled Bloom of Rose.

1870
This was followed in 1870 by the House’s first lip colour in stick form, Ne M’oubliez pas. Its name, meaning “Never Forget Me”, was a pact signed with women for the future. Thereafter, over the decades, Guerlain forged a special bond with the colour red, whether using it to adorn the lips or associating it with the name and bottles of legendary fragrances created by that same Perfumer of the Champs-Élysées…

2018
In 2018, Guerlain launched its precious, customisable Rouge G lipstick, featuring a creamy satin formula that would go on to make it a best-seller.

2021
In 2021, the new velvety matte finish of Luxurious Velvet joined the family.

Today, with the Rouge G Legendary Reds collection, Guerlain celebrates this heritage with 3 iconic reds of yesteryear now reinterpreted in 2 emblematic finishes to form 6 shades of legend.

Each red is associated with its year of creation:

1830 ROUGE DU TIGRE

1870 ROUGE IMPÉRIAL

1925 ROI DES ROUGES

In a nod to this historical inspiration, the lipstick bullets of this collection are engraved with a bee, the symbol of the House of Guerlain ever since the creation of the bottle for Eau de Cologne Impériale.

1830 ROUGE DU TIGRE

This flaming brick red was the very first lip colour created by Guerlain for Bloom of Rose. The shade is inspired by Asian lacquer art and the brown-red tones that adorn the most precious objects.

1870 ROUGE IMPÉRIAL

A deep berry red, this shade was used for Guerlain’s first lip colour in stick, Ne M’oubliez pas. Its deep, slightly bluish tone, once much cherished by 19th-century aristocracy, stands in homage to Empress Eugénie and is inspired by the fabrics worn by the royal figures of years past.

1925 ROI DES ROUGES

A pure and intense red, it revisits the colour that Guerlain created for the Roaring Twenties, in celebration of the frank feminine beauty that characterised the era. Almost a century later, this red remains the most vibrant of the whole collection.

FOUR VELVETY CASES

To celebrate the Legendary Reds collection, Guerlain wished to highlight one of its star cases, all dressed in red velvet (the Red Velvet case) and available in three new collectible versions of red: Majestic Ruby, Royal Burgundy and Luxurious Garnet, each stamped with the Guerlain logo.

It forms a tailor-made outfit for the Lorenz Bäumer bejewelled case, icon of the Rouge G brand.

ROUGE G PRESTIGE EDITION

An exceptional collection housed in an exceptional object.

Released as an ultra-exclusive limited edition, only one case can embody the magic of this collection:

the Rouge G Legendary Bee Prestige Edition

Revisiting the bee, the iconic House of Guerlain symbol, Baqué Molinié — a Parisian embroidery studio that collaborates with the most eminent artisans — has reinterpreted the bee all in red and gold pearls, embroidering it on a velvet sheath decorated with a red fishnet honeycomb design. Each individually numbered lipstick is housed in a unique set to form an exceptional gift.

Nestled snugly in this exceptional case, the best-selling shade 214 dresses the lips in brilliant, satiny red.

Between a celebration of beauty and exceptional craftsmanship, the quintessence of Guerlain style is perfectly illustrated in the Rouge G Legendary Bee Prestige Edition.
