Audemars Piguet unveil a stunning collaboration with haute couture designer Tamara Ralph.
The Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon Tamara Ralph Limited Edition is a striking testament to the collaboration between the watch brand and the designer, melding horological expertise with high fashion sensibility. Crafted in 18-carat pink gold and adorned with frosted gold, the case radiates luxury, showcasing a unique palette of graded hues – from warm brown and bronze to rich golden tones.
At the heart of this timepiece lies a multi-layered dial that mirrors the intricate detailing and bold femininity synonymous with the designer’s couture creations. Comprising four overlapping circular pink gold plates, the dial creates a mesmerising ripple effect that emanates from the flying tourbillon cage positioned at six o’clock. Evolving from a central brown hue to bronze and culminating in golden tones at the periphery, the dial is finished with a continuous sunburst satin bloom, accented by delicate, diamond-polished gold threads that add depth and sophistication to the design.
Powering this watch is the hand-wound Calibre 2964, a testament to tradition meeting modernity. The flying tourbillon, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, serves as the beating heart of the timepiece, effectively counteracting the effects of gravity on its precision. The tourbillon cage’s upper frame is adorned with three rings radiating from a centre disc encrusted with 19 brilliant-cut diamonds, adding a sophistication to the intricate mechanism.
