Whether it’s long flowing locks or short and sleek, most of us women regard our hair as an accessory, the defining characteristic of our appearance, lifestyle and personality. I have always had long, silky and wavy hair, but my curiosity led me to experience an extreme transformation to very short hair a few years back. I have always been confident with my hair. I don’t own a brush or comb; I wash my hair and then let it be. Growing it back since then and my demanding routine, inevitably led to me taking hair care for granted.

So, I was thrilled when I was booked to visit Bioskinspa for hair and skin treatments, which I had not had for over a year.
Bioskinspa has two branches, and I visited the Duhail one. I was pleasantly surprised with how convenient and easy the parking space is – right in front of the building. The spa entrance provides a serene welcome with a soothing aroma that fills the air. The white, teal, and wooden walls complement the warmly mood-lit lobby and the floor-toceiling window looks through to an impressive plant and crystal arrangement. As I walked in, I left the bustling city behind me. The ambience was pure tranquillity, making me immediately accustomed to the surroundings. The staff were exceptional and offered me a glass of refreshing detox water infused with grapefruit, orange and mint and, within a few minutes, I was completely at ease.
After a thorough check-up and consultation, the therapist knew exactly what I needed. I was led to the second floor for the much-needed 02 Hair Therapy treatment. A section of my hair had been tangled for days and I was planning a trim at some point. However, before my treatment even began, the therapist meticulously untangled the knots I thought were hopeless. In less than a few minutes, she brushed it effortlessly. The 02 Hair Therapy is designed to intensify hair growth and prevent hair loss. My scalp was treated to a blast of oxygen and cold lotion for cleansing; it was ticklishly relaxing and chilly. From this point, I already knew that my locks would look as fabulous as I felt.
An oleaginous mixture of ORA hair mask and oil coated the ends of my tresses and a hot towel was placed on my head. The satisfying cool and warm sensation from my scalp and the roots of my hair that flowed to the tips, followed by the precise yet firm massage on my head, neck and shoulders, literally made me pause my thoughts and focus on the moment.
My hair was thoroughly shampooed while my scalp was being massaged before a cold spray was applied, then a roller pen for hair growth was pressed around my scalp. This had a slight piercing feel, yet was an interesting enough sensation that I wanted it to continue. At this point, my hair was silky and smooth as an infrared brush to encourage growth was run through my strands. Then, the finale was the serum. My crowning glory was a transformed masterpiece, from within all the way out.
I was led back to the lobby, where my therapist met me for my next session, the skin treatment called Kobeetox.
