I recently had the pleasure of indulging in a staycation at Pullman Doha, and it was an experience that exceeded all my expectations – boasting 31 floors in the middle of the West Bay area with eight restaurants, from fine dining to sports bars. When I entered the hotel, I was greeted with impeccable service and a warm smile, setting the tone for a memorable stay.
Pullman Doha offers a perfect blend of elegance, comfort and world-class amenities that cater to every need of its discerning guests. From the exquisitely designed rooms to the exceptional dining options, state-of-the-art facilities and rejuvenating spa. Every aspect of my stay was meticulously crafted by General Manager Ehab Barghouth. In this review, I will highlight the hotel’s remarkable features, the superb restaurants, rooms and facilities and the spa that contributed to an exceptional short break.
The room I stayed in was nothing short of remarkable. The view of the Doha skyline was terrific. Elegant décor and contemporary design captivated me when I entered. The sophisticated colour palette, tasteful furnishings and attention to detail created an ambience of pure luxury and comfort. The room was very spacious, allowing ample capacity to unwind and relax. The plush bedding with high-quality linens ensured a restful night’s sleep. At the same time, the floor-to-ceiling windows provided breathtaking unparalleled views of the surrounding West Bay cityscape and the Gulf waters.
The room was equipped with all the modern amenities one could desire. The large flat-screen TV offered a wide selection of channels and entertainment options. The desk was spacious and ergonomically designed, providing a comfortable workspace for those attending to business matters. High-speed internet connectivity was available, ensuring seamless communication and productivity. The minibar was well-stocked with various beverages and snacks, offering a convenient option for inroom refreshments.
The en-suite bathroom was a sanctuary of indulgence. The sleek design, opulent fixtures, and premium toiletries increased the overall sense of luxury. The rain shower provided a rejuvenating experience, while the deep soaking tub offered a perfect retreat to unwind after a long day of exploration. The hotel’s commitment to cleanliness and hygiene was evident in the spotless condition of the accommodation.
The dining experience at Pullman Doha was a culinary delight. The hotel boasts a variety of options that cater to diverse palates, from meat-centred outlets to authentic Italian. The main restaurant Avenue showcased an extensive menu that featured a fusion of international and local cuisines prepared with the best and finest ingredients. The Avenue manager, Reda, and the supervisor, Dilbar, ensured the service was seamless.
The breakfast buffet was a feast for the senses, offering various delectable options. The spread was a perfect start to the day, from freshly baked pastries and bread to a selection of cheeses, cold cuts, fruits and Arabic options. The chefs were also available to prepare made-to-order dishes, ensuring a personalised dining experience.
I was delighted to try out one of Doha’s most notable fine-dining restaurants for dinner – The M. The first thing that strikes you about The M is its tasteful interior, which effortlessly blends modern aesthetics with a touch of understated luxury. The contemporary décor, soft lighting and comfortable seating create a refined and intimate atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for a romantic dinner or a special celebration. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, from the beautifully set tables to the stylish bar area. Now, let’s talk about the stars of the show – the food and the chefs. The restaurant offers a diverse menu showcasing a fusion of international flavours focusing on New American and meat-centric cuisine. Each plate is expertly crafted by Chef Justin Yu. The presentation of the dishes is artful, and the flavours are simply out of this world divine.
The Italian food at Bice is outstanding. The carefully curated menu by Chef Matteo features a delightful selection of dishes, each prepared with the utmost care and attention to detail. The rich and authentic flavours showcased the chef ’s expertise in creating traditional Italian cuisine. Whether it was the homemade al dente pasta, the tenderly cooked meats, or the fresh seafood, every dish was a true delight for the taste buds. The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly, ensuring every note was met throughout the meal. From recommending the perfect grape pairing to accommodating dietary restrictions, they went above and beyond to ensure a seamless dining experience.
The ambience at The Score Sports Bar is fantastic. I was greeted by a lively atmosphere with walls adorned with sports memorabilia and huge HD screens strategically placed throughout the venue. The bar’s interior design blends modern elements with a cosy and comfortable setting, making it an ideal place to catch up with friends, enjoy a game alone or play at the billiards table.
The menu at The Score offers a variety of delectable food options that perfectly complement the sports-watching experience. It has something for everyone, from classic bar snacks like the tasty, crispy chicken wings and nachos to heartier meals like burgers and pizzas. The quality and taste of the food are commendable and the burger portion sizes are generous, ensuring you won’t leave hungry. That’s for sure!
The facilities at Pullman Doha were nothing short of exceptional. The hotel provided a comprehensive range of amenities designed to cater to the needs of both leisure and business travellers. The well-equipped fitness centre offered state-of-the-art exercise equipment, allowing guests to maintain their fitness routines while away from home. From cardio machines to weightlifting equipment, the fitness centre had everything needed for a satisfying workout. The gym was spacious and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and motivating environment.
The pool area at Echo Café is a serene oasis where guests can relax and unwind. The swimming pool offered a refreshing escape from the city heat. Comfortable loungers surrounded the pool, providing a perfect spot to soak up and bask in the Doha sun or enjoy a good book. The attentive poolside service ensured guests had everything they needed for a delightful experience.
The hotel also offered additional services. The concierge desk is staffed with knowledgeable professionals eager to assist with inquiries or requests. Whether arranging transportation, recommending local attractions or organising special occasions, the concierge team went above and beyond to ensure guest satisfaction.
The highlight of my staycation was undoubtedly the rejuvenating experience at Pullman Spa. I was enveloped in an atmosphere of serenity and peace from entering. The spa’s tranquil ambience, soothing scents, and the welcoming smile of the staff instantly melted away any stress or tension. The spa menu offered extensive treatments, ranging from massages to facials and body treatments. The skilled therapists took great care to ensure my relaxation and well-being, tailoring the treatments to my needs. Using high-quality products from France and professional know-how resulted in a truly indulgent experience.
I was offered the Hanakasumi treatment, a spa therapy inspired by traditional Japanese rituals and techniques. It is known for its relaxing and rejuvenating effects, combining exfoliation, massage and aromatic ingredients – a transformative journey. The therapist’s expert hands worked magic, soothing my muscles and relieving tension. The aromatherapy oils used during the massage added a layer of sensory bliss. The spa room was designed to create a serene ambience, with soft lighting, calming scents and comfortable furnishings. The spa staff ’s professionalism and attention to detail were truly commendable.
Overall, my stay at Pullman Doha was an unforgettable experience. The combination of lavish rooms, exceptional dining, world-class facilities and a rejuvenating spa made it a remarkable staycation. I highly recommend it, and I look forward to my next visit to create more cherished memories. It is truly your playground.
